Shades of Green Resort for Military Families at Walt Disney World

Open to all branches of the military and Department of Defense civilians, retirees, and their families, the Shades of Green resort at Walt Disney World is a unique spot for a vacation (or in military vernacular, R&R). Shades of Green is one of only two Armed Forces Recreation Centers (AFRC) in the continental U.S., and its location at the Walt Disney World resort gives guests access to all of the attractions that the Orlando area has to offer.

Guests must meet certain eligibility requirements to book their stay at the Shades of Green resort, which can be accessed at the resort’s Web site at www.shadesofgreen.org. The resort has 586 oversized guest rooms, and the facilities can accommodate meetings, conferences, reunions, weddings and other events for up to 350 people. In addition to tickets for the Walt Disney World theme parks, Shades of Green also sells tickets to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld/Busch Gardens, Kennedy Space Center, Orlando area dinner shows and other local attractions. Many of the tickets are eligible for military discounts.
