Norman Rockwell Exhibit at Orlando Museum of Art

American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell exhibit will be on display at the Orlando Museum of Art until May 26, 2008. Organized by the Norman Rockwell Museum, the exhibit traces the evolution of Rockwell’s art throughout a career spanning six decades, making Rockwell the nation’s premiere illustrator of the 20th century.
In addition to 41 original paintings, American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell includes a complete set of 323 archival Saturday Evening Post cover tearsheets, which span his artistic contributions to the magazine from 1916 to 1963. Part of the exhibition will offer insights into the artist’s process, from first idea to finished painting and published work.
The Orlando Museum Art is currently open seven days a week with extended hours. For more information about the museum and other exhibitions, visit the OMA Web site at www.omart.org.
