The King of Pop might be gone but he is not forgotten, the Michael Jackson 4D experience Captain EO is returning to Epcot on July 2 for a limited engagement. Captain EO is replacing—for the time being at least—the Honey I Shrunk the Audience attraction, which has already been shut down for renovations.
The original Captain EO show was at Epcot from 1986-1994, when Michael Jackson was at the peak of his popularity. The 17-minute sci-fi adventure film followed Captain EO’s journey to turn a colorless planet into a world of happiness with the power of music (not to mention, expertly choreographed dancing).
Captain EO is also returning to other Disney parks around the world this year. It has already reopened at Disneyland in California (there is even a Caption Eo @ Disneyland Facebook page for diehard fans) and is scheduled to open at Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris this summer.
