Romantic things to do in Orlando

Orlando is best known for being the epicenter of all things that are kid-friendly, but there are romantic things to do in Orlando for couples who are looking for a little quiet time.

The crème de la crème of romantic dining in Orlando is Victoria and Albert’s at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in Walt Disney World. The prix fixe (fixed price) meals have been featured in Orlando Magazine and The Food Network. A dinner jacket is required for gentlemen (tie optional) and a dress or pants ensemble for ladies, and there are no chicken fingers or grilled cheese sandwiches in sight. In fact, children under the age of 10 will not be served at Victoria and Albert’s.

The Grand Floridian is also home to a wedding pavilion, where the ceremony and reception include romantic flourishes with a touch of Disney magic. The full-spa service is located adjacent to Franck's Studio at Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding Pavilion and includes couples packages.

One of the most extensive spas in town is the Relache spa at the Gaylord Palms Resort, which is just a few minutes away from Walt Disney World. Guests of the Relache Spa must be age 18 or older, and there is Harmonic Couples Massage available that a Swedish, deep tissue massage and aromatherapy.

Like the Grand Floridian and Gaylord Palms, Orlando’s newly opened Waldorf Astoria has an on-site full-service spa and also promises a romantic dining experience. On-site dining includes Waldorf Astoria New York favorites such as the Bull & Bear Steakhouse, Oscar’s, Peacock Alley, and Sir Harry’s Lounge, plus the poolside grill Aquamarine.

And finally, for couples who are looking for a “date night” that is far removed from the tourist crowds or noisy children, the Enzian Theater in Maitland, FL (just north of Orlando off of I-4) serves up dinner and a movie—and not just the regular multiplex fare. Oftentimes the Enzian is only place in the Orlando area where film lovers can see the latest “art films” or screenings of film classics. In addition to wine, beer and other beverages, the Enzian’s menu includes salads, sandwiches, pizza, special platters and desserts.
