Mother’s Day in Orlando

Is an Orlando vacation part of your Mother’s Day plans? As one might guess, some of the biggest brunches in town are close to the attractions. Some of the annual favorites include the Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch at the Peabody Orlando on International Drive from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm, and Mother’s Day at Trattoria Del Porto at the Portofino Bay Hotel at the Universal Studios resort from 11:00 am, until 5:00pm.

Downtown Disney’s House of Blues hosts a Gospel Brunch every Sunday, with seating at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Gaylord Palms is also well known for its brunches, and this Mother’s Day there will be a Mother’s Day brunch at the resort’s Villa de Flora restaurant. The cost for the Gaylord Palms brunch is adults, $49 per person; Children ages 3–12, $21 per person. Reservations are required; please call the hostess stand at (407) 586-1114.

The annual Mother’s Day brunch at EPCOT has been cancelled for 2009, although the International Flower & Garden Show events continuing through the end of the month. The only Disney restaurant hosting an official Mother’s Day brunch is The Wave at the Disney Contemporary Resort. Call 407-WDW-DINE for reservations for any Walt Disney World resort restaurant.
