Ranthambore National Park: Mesmerizing View Of Wildlife

Ranthambore is situated in the eastern Rajasthan at the confluence of the Aravalli hill ranges and the Vindhyan plateau. Two rivers flow through the Ranthambore National park the Chambal River in the South and the Banas River in the north. There are also six manmade lakes and many perennial streams pass through the entire national park. This magnificent national park is spread over 1334 sq kilometers. The whole national park is rugged terrain and the dense deciduous forests are major features of this national park, which comprises the largest and most diverse collection of wildlife species in India.

The rich and diverse variety of flora and fauna comprises of more than 300 species of trees, 50 aquatic plants, over 300 species of birds, 50 aquatic plants and 30 mammals. On you visit to Ranthambore will allow you to explore and observe sloth bear, wild boar, Chinkara, Porcupines and Jackals, Leopards, Jungle cat, marsh crocodile, Sambhar, Chital, Nilgai, Gazelle, Boars, Mongoose, Indian hare, Monitor lizards and large number of birds apart from the tigers which are the major attractions of this wonderful national park. These animals are mostly found near the lakes and water holes during the evening so it is the best time to spot these rare species. Ranthambore tiger reserve is home to 36 tigers and 40 leopards which can be sighted very easily in the natural habitat during daytime particularly near the lakes of the reserve.

There is also a fort that in centrally located in the national park built by the Chauhans in the 10th century is also a major attraction of the park.
