PBA All Stars At The Island Of Boracay

PBA All Stars festivities will be hitting the shore of Boracay this coming week of May18-23,2011. The officials, cast and crew of Philippine Basketball Association looks forward to a grand celebration of 2011 All Star Week at Boracay.

Commissioner Chito Salud
spearheaded this event dubbed "Hala Bola!". Aside from the oozing all star sports festivities, there will also be outreach programs to be held in the nearby Carabao Island.

“Just everybody who hears that it’s going to be in Boracay is excited to be there,” said Salud.

“Emphasis is on outreach program. We’ll also hold a beach party where our players will mingle with the local and foreign tourists. This is one way of helping promote the country’s tourism program,” Salud also said.

Prior to this event, Boracay hotels and resorts are expected to be filled in within a week or so. Tourists and die hard PBA All Stars fans are expected to line up and book earlier to random hotels at Boracay.

The All-Star Game between the North stars and the South stars will take place this coming May 23. Balloting for the starting unit started last February 27.

As we can remember, it was the North All-Stars who won last year against the rival South counterparts, 133-132, with Gabe Norwood winning the MVP honors in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Highlights of the all star week includes slam dunk contest among PBA imports.

“We’ll take a look at our imports. Baka may magagaling sa slam dunk, eh di paglaban-labanin namin,” Salud said.

Last year, Nino Canaleta topped a stellar cast of slam-dunkers to pocket an unprecedented fourth crown.

Mark Macapagal, on the other hand, ruled the three-point shootout.

Boracay is indeed a great place to do things like this. Boracay welcomes the PBA ALL STARS 2011 FESTIVITIES with open arms.
