Cheap Flights to Orlando Major Carriers Cutting Fares for Holidays

Travelers seeking cheap flights to Orlando in the hopes of spending the holidays at “the happiest place on Earth” might find air fares that are more affordable than they expected. The Associated Press has recently reported that the major U.S. airlines are cutting fares for the busy Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. Due to the sluggish economy, the airlines are cutting prices now instead of waiting until the last couple of weeks before the peak holiday travel period begins.
Although many of the price reductions are at airports that might be considered “alternate airports,” there are cheaper fares available on routes where the big airlines compete with low-cost carriers such as JetBlue, AirTran, and Southwest, which has a large presence at Orlando International Airport. Visitors looking for cheap flights to Orlando during the holiday season should keep in mind that some of the sale fares have blackout dates on November 30 and December 1 -- the Sunday and Monday after Thanksgiving -- and December 20.
