St. Benedict Fundraiser Gala

Saturday: October 7
Help restore St. Benedict the Moor School and learn about the fascinating history of this St. Augustine landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in the heart of Lincolnville, the school was built in 1898 and closed in 1964. Today, plans are underway to make the school the center of the community – much as it was prior to its closure in 1964. Multi-media centers, a library, museum and meeting facilities are among the goals for this once-beautiful building. Old St. Augustine Village will host a gala fundraiser beginning at 6:45 p.m. at the Village. Local historians, architects, and re-enactors will be on hand to tell the school’s story – plus there will be music, food and entertainment! Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the Old St. Augustine Village gate. For more information, call 904.823.9722 or for
