Orlando weather in May

Orlando in May can be much like July in many northern U.S. cities, with high temperatures consistently in the 80s and lows in the 60s. The tropical weather of the summer months is on the horizon, so as the temperatures get higher, so does the likelihood of brief but powerful afternoon thunderstorms.

In many ways the month of May offers the ideal weather for an Orlando vacation, especially for visitors who would like to spend a day at one of Orlando's four waterparks (such as Blizzard Beach, pictured) or even a side trip to the beach. The crowds at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando taper off after the April spring break, before ramping up again for the peak summer travel season between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend.
