Why Orlando is an ideal convention city

In recent years, Orlando and Las Vegas have frequently switched places as being the nation’s #1 convention city. The benefits of hosting a convention in Orlando are obvious: warm weather, world-class theme park attractions, and the modern Orange County Convention Center in the midst of the International Drive tourism corridor.

The fact that Orlando offers many more family-friendly activities than Sin City makes it easier for conventioneers to bring their entire family with them if they have a business trip to Orlando. Hotel shuttles and taxis provide convenient service from Orlando International Airport to the OCCC, and many I-Drive hotels also provide shuttle service to Universal Studios, SeaWorld and other Orlando area favorites.

The Pointe Orlando shopping, dining and entertainment center is across the street from the OCCC, so visitors can have a chance to explore a bit of I-Drive on their lunch break, and get an idea of how they want to spend the rest of their free time. WonderWorks, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, Titanic: The Experience, and dozens of restaurants are only a short walk or drive from the convention center.

Best of all, there is something for everyone in Orlando; so there is no excuse to stay cooped up in a hotel room when there is so much to do in this premier convention city.
