Aquatica Polar Plunge January 16

Orlando and the rest of Florida has been experiencing some unseasonably cold temperatures, so it might not take too much effort on the part of Aquatica, Seaworld’s water park, to host its first ever Polar Plunge this Saturday, January 16 to benefit Special Olympics Florida, which provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver as a means to achieve physical fitness, self-esteem and life skills necessary to be productive, respected and contributing members of their communities.

Registration for the Polar Plunge event begins at 9:30 a.m. The opening ceremony and plunge take place at 11:00 a.m.—and be prepared, Aquatica plans on “icing down our Cutback Cove wave pool” for participants. Those who Plunge will get to stay and play at Aquatica all day.Anyone who raise or donate a minimum of $50 for this worthy cause may come to Aquatica and take the Plunge. Plungers receive official commemorative Plunge gear and bragging rights. The incentives and prizes increase based on the amount of money raised. The minimum age to "Plunge" is 15.
