Capital One Bowl 2010

If it’s New Year’s Day, it’s time to head over to the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. The 2010 Capital One Bowl matches up #12 LSU (9-3) vs. #13 Penn State (10-2) at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 1.

The Capital One Bowl is considered to be the biggest non-BCS bowl game in the country. In addition to the game itself, tickets are available for several related events on New Year’s Day: the kickoff luncheon will be held at noon on New Year’s Day at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld, the Kuykendall Gardner Hospitality Village will be held at Tinker Field by the Citrus Bowl, and the family-friendly Capital One FanFest will be held at McCracken Field by the Citrus Bowl. Visit the fcsports.com Web site for ticket prices.

Although the name Capital One Bowl has only been around since 2003, it is actually one of the oldest college bowl games in the country. The Capital One Bowl used to be known as the Tangerine Bowl (1947-1982) and the Florida Citrus Bowl (1983-2002).
