Rainy Day In Destin

Sometimes it happens. It does rain down in Destin. Today was one of the few wet days. When you plan a trip to the beach bad weather is not something you want to deal with. When we get stuck with a rainy day we try and come up with activities that will help us make the most of it. Today we took a trip to the Air Force Armament Museum on Eglin AFB. This museum is just a quick 25 minute car ride from Destin. You do not have to be military to visit the museum. The admission is based solely of donations. The museum features tons of planes on the exterior as well as few inside. There is also a large collection of weapons, bombs, and other interesting items. We head to the Armament Museum at least once a year. It is informative for adults and a lot of fun for children. Be sure to try the astronaut ice cream in the gift shop.
