Publix Orlando

Publix has a longstanding relationship with the city of Orlando; the Publix logo is a familiar sight in local shopping centers and the delivery trucks coming in from the company’s headquarters in Lakeland, FL, which lies between Orlando and Tampa. The neon sign in front of the Publix in Orlando’s College Park neighborhood is a local landmark that dates back to the 1950s.

Founded in 1930, Publix Super Markets is the largest and fastest-growing employee-owned supermarket chain in the United States. The first Publix was opened in Winter Haven, FL—a town that is best known for being the home of Cypress Gardens theme park. Today, there are over 1,000 Publix grocery stores nationwide, including stores in the Dr. Phillips neighborhood on Sand Lake Road and S.R. 535 (Apopka-Vineland Rd) near the entryway to the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, so that out-of-town visitors can get a taste of the place “where shopping is a pleasure.”
