Sea World Sends Manatee Back to Nature

Members of SeaWorld's Animal Rescue Team return Ana Lucia, an 8-foot-long, 1,000 pound female manatee, back to the wild at Salt Springs Run Marina in Marion County today. She was released with another female Libby (7-foot long, 715 pounds). Both animals were rescued from Jacksonville, Fla. for cold stress. They are two of seven manatees SeaWorld is releasing over the next month. The park's animal experts are capitalizing on manatees' congregation to warm springs during chilly weather.
