Disney Dream prepares for maiden voyage

It’s a dream come true for travelers looking for a family friendly vacation on the high seas. The newest ship of Disney Cruise Line, Disney Dream, embarks on her maiden voyage on January 26 out of Port Canaveral, just a 45 minute drive from the Orlando International Airport. Disney Dream boasts some features that have never been found on any cruise ship.

Like the other Disney Cruise Line ships, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, Disney Dream was designed in the classic style of the golden age of cruising, in the early 20th Century, with the added bonus of state-of-the-art cruising technology and modern convenience. The ship has interactive floors in the children's clubs, which allow kids to play and interact with the games and activities there. And perhaps the splashiest new feature is the AquaDuck – the very first water coaster at sea, which allows Guests to swoosh up, down, around, over the edge of the ship, and back before making a splash landing.

Disney Dream will bring guests to the island of Nassau in The Bahamas, and to Disney's own private island, Castaway Cay. On shore, Guests can choose from Port Adventures like stingray interactions, glass-bottom boat tours, parasailing, fishing, jet-ski tours and offshore snorkeling.

For anyone who is considering a winter getaway on the warm Caribbean waters, more information is available at the Disney Cruise website.
