Orlando Fringe Festival May 14 - 25

The 2009 Orlando Fringe Festival returns to Loch Haven Park May 14 - 25, promising 12days of "100% unjuried, 100% uncensored, and 100% accessible for artists and audiences alike" theater, music, art and other live performances, where 100% of the profits go back to the artists participating in the Fringe.

Festival hours are 4:00 p.m. until midnight on weekdays, 10:00 a.m. until midnight on weekends, with Kids Fringe activities on the weekends from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Audience members must purchase an $8 button for admittance to any of the indoor Fringe performances. The outdoor stage featuring music, poetry, dancing, and open mic presentations is free to the public.

The first "Fringe Festival" for local artists originated in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1947. The Orlando Fringe Festival is the longest continuously running Fringe Festival in the United States, starting in 1992.
