Cheap Room Rates for Destin Hotels

The peak summer season in Destin, FL is coming to a close and now is the best time to book an affordable trip to the beach! We have just update our rates and we like what we see. The rates are falling fast, and the beach is as beautiful as ever. The long waits at restaurants and attractions are now gone and most of the kids are back in school. If you are looking for a relaxing stay at the beach then get down to Destin right now!

Now for the movers and shakers:

The average nightly rates have fallen almost $30 a night at two major Destin Hotels. The Hilton on the Beach has dropped it's rates an average of $29 a night compared to last month. The Hampton Inn in Downtown Destin has also dropped it's rates $27 a night. These are not your average Cheap Destin Hotel, these are two of the best hotels in Destin!

Wish it was all good news, but a few hotels in Destin have raised their rates for this month. The Wingate has jumped an amazing 48% to bring it's average nightly rate for August to just shy of $100. Still a good deal, but not as good of a deal as we have recently seen. Also the Embassy Suites has raised it's rate just shy of $25 a night. Although the Embassy's prices have gone up we still consider this location one of the best hotels in Miramar Beach.

We can not stress enough, if you are looking for a deal. Now is the time to book your affordable vacation to Destin!

What a game yesterday! Dublin were so close to getting through to the All Ireland Final but at last minute Cork came back with that 1 point that stopped Dublin moving forward. Congratulations to Cork.
Next weekend will decide who they face in the final, will it be Down or Kildare????
That will be a tough one to guess. We'd love to hear who you think will make the final and who will be the All Ireland Champ's!
The All Ireland Hurling final is coming soon too, Kilkenny v Tipperary, again very close to call.

If you are travelling to the game make sure to think of Bewley's Hotels Dublin for your hotel near Croke Park.

Disney games

If you are into gaming, there are plenty of online and real life Disney games to choose from. Many of the games available at Disney.com are based upon hit movies and Disney Channel favorites such as Cars, Up, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana and Phineas and Ferb. There is even a game of “Classic Tron” for those who appreciate “Old School” video games.

In addition to the online games, there are plenty of real life Disney games available at Walt Disney World in Orlando. Visitors at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can be a part of the arcade action in the Toy Story Mania attraction (there is an iPhone app for that game as well). Riders can also help Buzz Lightyear defeat the evil Zurg at Space Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom.

The best place to get your game on at Disney World, however, is at the DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park at Downtown Disney. This is no ordinary arcade—some of the attractions in this five-story building have height restrictions. Visitors can be the captain of a pirate ship, ride the rapids, help Aladdin find the magic lamp and even “Ride the Comix” as they fly through a virtual reality comic book world. In addition to the virtual reality and 3D encounters, there are plenty of traditional pinball machines and arcade games to enjoy, without having to dig through your pockets for quarters, token, or even electronic cards.

The Key To Your Orlando Vacation

Orlandoescape.com os the key to your perfect Orlando vacation. We have the deals you need, the places to see and many things to do in Orlando

Disney World for babies: Animal Kingdom

Of all the Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the largest at the resort and the largest Disney theme park in the world, but that is because most of the 500 acres of park land have been set aside for the animals that live there. For the youngest visitors to Animal Kingdom, there might be less rides to choose from but the African safari and live musical shows add to the fun.

Even though babies and toddlers have a hard time being patient while waiting for a show to begin, there are plenty of musical and visual delights for audiences of all ages during performances of the Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Musical, both of which are based on popular animated films. Younger kids will also appreciate Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade, and there is no need to worry about whether or not the fireworks will upset the little ones—Animal Kingdom does not host fireworks shows so as not to upset the animals.

As far as rides are concerned, the must-see attraction of Disney’s Animal Kingdom is appropriate for all ages: the Kilimanjaro Safari allows riders to share the land with African animals on the savanna as they ride in a rugged open-sided safari vehicle. Be sure to have cameras at the ready in order to photograph the giraffes, lions, antelope, rhinos, warthogs, zebras and other stunning species roam the land. In Dionland USA, the TriceraTop spin is a good way to introduces younger kids to carnival rides, and preschoolers and older kids can stretch their legs in the Boneyard play area—but be prepared to chase the kids around once they are set loose!

Aloha Friday at Loews Royal Pacific Resort set for Friday, September 3

Fresh and flavorful food made with locally-grown ingredients is on the menu for the next 'Aloha Friday' event at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando. Set for Friday, September 3 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm, the event takes its name from the Hawaiian tradition of slowing down, wrapping up the work week and beginning the weekend by gathering with friends.

The chefs at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando also use the event as a way to showcase their partnership with Slow Food Orlando, by using many ingredients that are grown and sourced locally through farmers and purveyors that are part of the company's Adopt-a-Farmer program. Culinarians from Emeril's Tchoup Chop also serve up special items from the celebrity chef's on-site restaurant. The Slow Food movement is a way of living and a way of eating that links the pleasure of food with a commitment to the community and the environment. Its goal is to build awareness of local food and farmers and to promote re-connection with family and friends.

"Our partnerships with local and regional farmers and purveyors have expanded this year, as we continue to focus on responsibly grown, carefully crafted and deliciously healthy products," says Executive Chef Nando Belmonte.

'Aloha Friday' offers the opportunity for people to sample food dishes featuring locally-grown ingredients and meet some of the people who grow, raise, farm or catch those products. The menu will feature:

  • Mixed organic baby greens from Hearts of Christmas Farms in Christmas, FL
  • Barolo braised grass fed beef with sweet grass dairy goat cheese polenta from Deep Creek Livestock in DeLand, FL
  • Port Canaveral Ruby Red Shrimp from Wild Ocean Seafood Market in Port Canaveral, FL
  • Poblano pulled pork with garlic cilantro flatbread from Palmetto Creek Farms in Avon Park, FL
  • Caramelized peach strudel with organic Florida blueberry cloufitis from Hearts of Christmas Farms in Christmas, FL and Lake Meadow Naturals in Ocoee, FL

'Aloha Friday' also features live entertainment by local band Simulcast, along with tropical drinks, beer and wine. Tickets for the event are $35 in advance on-line or $45 at the door or $50 in advance for VIP tickets, which includes a private pre-reception, early entry to the event and reserved seating. For tickets, log onto: LoewsHotels.Tix.com.

The 1,000-room Loews Royal Pacific Resort is the third on-site Loews Hotel at Universal Orlando. It has been honored by Travel & Leisure Family as one of the top family-friendly resorts in the country and also has been named among the best meeting facilities in the U.S. by Successful Meetings and Meetings & Conventions magazine. The world-class accommodations at Universal Orlando Resort also include the rock 'n' roll themed Hard Rock Hotel and the Italian-themed Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. All three on-site hotels are connected to each other and to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and CityWalk by a chain of scenic waterways.

Disney World for babies: Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney's Hollywood Studios offers stunt shows and thrill rides that will be out of reach for many of Disney's youngest visitors, but there are still a number of options for families with babies and toddlers.

Probably the biggest draw for the stroller crowd is Playhouse Disney, which is a staged performance with live actors as well as animatronic characters based on Playhouse Disney characters. Playhouse Disney is updated on a regular basis, in keeping with the Playhouse Disney TV schedule. In recent years the cast has included Handy Manny, the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and the Little Einsteins.

Just a few steps away from Playhouse Disney Live on Stage is the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, a live (and highly condensed) version of the hit Disney movie, The Little Mermaid. Like the Playhouse Disney attraction, a Fast Pass is available to cut down on the wait time (and the amount of time little girls will be calling out "I want Ariel!")

Live performances and parades are part of the pageantry at Disney's Hollywood Studios, so tots don't have to leave their strollers to enjoy shows like High School Musical or the Pixar Block Party. During the holidays, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights attracts visitors of all ages, delighting even the smallest Disney guests.

Disney World for Babies: Epcot

Magic Kingdom might be the place where families experience Walt Disney World for the first time, but the second oldest theme park at Walt Disney World has plenty to offer very young children. Epcot has a number of easy-going conveyor belt-type rides that riders of all ages can enjoy.

Baby friendly rides in the Future World area include The Seas with Nemo and Friends (because anything involving Finding Nemo is a hit with kids), the greenhouse tour known as The Land, and Imagination! featuring a flying dragon called Figment. The Figment character is pretty popular with children and the ride empties out into an interactive play area (as well as a gift shop--after all, this is Disney( The oversized sphere known as Spaceship Earth is another crowd pleaser--even if babies can't understand the history of communication and technology, they will enjoy the ride.

The World Showcase area has less emphasis on rides than Future World, but World Showcase does have mellow rides in the Mexico and Norway pavilions. Of these two rides, the Mexican ride is a bit gentler, since there is a possibility that riders might get splashed on the Norway ride.

Families with young children will find plenty to do at Epcot, especially during special events like the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, when the entire park is transformed by Disney character topiaries. The holidays are another special time of year, appealing to the kid in everyone.

Disney World for Babies: Magic Kingdom

Ever wonder which Walt Disney World rides are most suitable for the stroller crowd? Even though babies and toddlers can be found throughout the House of Mouse, certain rides do a better job of maintaining a very short attention span.

Keep in mind that all children have different dispositions and are easily upset by hunger, full diaper, or a missed nap, so more sensitive children might be frightened of darker rides while others simply laugh it off. Pirates of the Caribbean, and even the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom are pretty mellow rides for very small babies, but toddlers who might be more aware of their surroundings might be a little more sensitive to the spooky castle or Pirates' famous warning, "Dead men tell no tales..."

A surefire winner for "lap babies" at Magic Kingdom is the iconic "It's a Small World" as well as the Tomorrowland Transportation Authority, also known as the TTA. The Peter Pan Ride and the Adventures of Winnie the Pooh are also very entertaining, but these rides tend to have longer lines which can wear out a very young child. Try to use a FastPass whenever possible.

Magic Kingdom is well suited for very young children, as evidenced by the large amount of stroller parking available. Visitors might also notice by mid-afternoon that there are a considerable number of tots napping in their strollers after a long day at Disney.

“Kitchen is all about choice for our customers......."

It Is Time to Play In Orlando

Here is a list of things to do in Orlando.

      Dr. Phillips

Who was Dr. Phillips? The neighborhood that bears his name is one of the most upscale neighborhoods in the Orlando area (technically it is in unincorporated Orange County), with a hospital, high school, and a branch of the Central Florida YMCA that bear his name. At the turn of the last century, Dr. Philip Phillips (1874 – 1959) made his fortune doing what many people did in Central Florida during the pre-Walt Disney World era: growing oranges. Dr. Phillips was responsible for several key innovations in the processing and packaging of orange juice.

As a citrus magnate during the first half of the 20th century, at one point Dr. Phillips owned more than 5,000 acres of citrus groves in Central Florida. Dr. Phillips sold the land in 1953 and founded the Dr. P. Phillips Foundation soon afterward, and his son Howard continued his father’s philanthropic work.

In addition to the various buildings in south Orlando named after Dr. Phillips, a Dr. P Phillips Center for Performing Arts is scheduled to be completed in 2012. At the Dr. Phillips branch of the Central Florida YMCA, photos and reproductions of advertisements from Dr. Phillips citrus growing business is a reminder of the region's rich agricultural history.

      Isleworth Florida

To local residents, Isleworth is a quiet, gated golf community (with an 18 hole course originally designed by legendary golf pro Arnold Palmer) that is home to the Orlando area's wealthiest residents--a high profile roster of CEOs and celebrity sports stars, including Tiger Woods, who apparently will be losing his Isleworth residence as part of his divorce settlement. Non-residents cannot pass through the gates of Isleworth without stating their reason for visiting (and having their name on a guest list) with the community's security guards.

Through the gates of Isleworth is a glimpse of the lifestyles of the rich and famous. One-of-a-kind, opulent mansions with a Mediterranean flair rest upon the shores of the Butler chain of lakes. The rolling hills that once held orange groves were sold to Arnold Palmer in the mid-1980s and later on to another developer, so all of the homes are relatively new, compared to the more historical districts in the City of Orlando.

Although Isleworth residents have the address of neighboring Windermere, Orange County resisted Windermere's efforts to annex Isleworth in 2007. When the Tiger Woods scandal first broke in late 2009, hundreds of reporters descended upon this quiet community and put Isleworth in the national spotlight. Today, the media horde has died down, but one of Isleworth's most famous residents has certainly left his mark on this tight-knit community.

      Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade”

With its glittery galaxy of 23 illuminated floats, 80 performers, and trademark synthesizer music sweetened with Disney theme songs, Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade” has been leaving Magic Kingdom guests aglow all summer.

“The return of Disney’s ‘Main Street Electrical Parade’ to the Magic Kingdom has been an overwhelming success,” said Magic Kingdom Vice President Phil Holmes. “Guests begin cheering as soon as they hear the opening fanfare and see those fantastic floats covered in lights. The parade is a magical part of a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, so we’re thrilled to be announcing we’re leaving the lights on.”

Fronted by a new lead float starring Tinker Bell, Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade” officially bowed at Magic Kingdom June 6, 2010.

Beloved by generations, the parade anchors Disney’s multi-park “Summer Nightastic!” entertainment extravaganza of attractions and events. Once “Summer Nightastic!” draws to a close on Aug. 14 as previously announced, Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade” will continue an open-ended run.

The iconic pageant of illuminated floats dates to 1972 when it first debuted at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., and became an instant hit.

Prior to its current run in Florida, the parade last performed at Walt Disney World Resort from 1999 into 2001. This summer, Magic Kingdom guests have been treated to all-new elements that continue in the encore phase of the run:

      * Tinker Bell leads the eye-filling procession, waving from the basket of a balloon floating gracefully above a magical garden shimmering in fairy light.
      * Pinocchio and the boys from the classic film’s Pleasure Island sequence join the parade, and Snow White joins the Seven Dwarfs on a diamond mine float.
      * There are new lighting effects, and the parade’s highly recognizable musical theme is brightened by new technology.

Beloved floats like the Honor America finale display – featuring the American flag and giant American eagle – are among parade favorites, along with popular characters such as Alice, Mickey Mouse and Goofy.
